Train Seat Visualiser: see your 3AC berth in 3D

A one-hour app built with Claude that lets you pick a route, a train and a coach, then see your berth inside a 3D 3AC coach.

Train Seat Visualiser is a small app that shows your 3AC berth inside a 3D coach. You enter a route, pick a train, then pick a coach and a seat, and you see the berth in 3D.

The reel is Day 8 of a series with one rule set: one spin, one hour, no re-rolls. A spinner picks what gets built, and this time it landed on this app.

The problem it points at

Most of us have stood on a crowded platform, unsure where the coach will stop. And once you're inside, you still have to find your berth. The app tries to answer both questions before you leave home: where is my coach in the train, and where is my seat in the coach.

How the build went

The plan was simple. Route in, train choice, then coach and seat.

The prompt went to Claude once. From that single prompt, Claude built the whole coach in 3D, and the build kept running while the rest came together. There was no second attempt, which is the point of the no re-roll rule.

The reel then slows down to explain two things. One is the typical order of coaches in a train. The other is the berth pattern inside each coach. If you've ever guessed at which end of the platform to stand on, those are the two ideas worth knowing.

What the app does

Take the example from the reel. You search Mumbai to Delhi and get three trains. You compare them on food and time. Then you choose a coach, say B3, and a lower berth. The app shows that berth in 3D, inside the full 3AC coach.

So the flow is route, compare, coach, berth. Each step feeds the next, and you end on the 3D view of your own seat.

Limits worth knowing

The app uses sample data, so check the real coach position at the station. It also doesn't book anything. Ticket booking happens on IRCTC.

Treat it as a way to get oriented, not as a source of live information.

What to try

If you want the link, comment TRAIN on the reel and it will be sent to you. Then try your usual berth and see how it looks. Also send it to the friend who always ends up standing in front of the wrong coach.

If you want to try the same experiment yourself, give your own prompt to Claude once, set a one-hour limit, and don't re-roll.
